If you think cricket is just one of those annoying noise making insects on a hot summer night, or if you only think of Cricket when looking for a lower cost cell phone, you are missing out on one of the the great traditions of the Commonwealth nations.

The game of "cricket" pre-dates the great American past-time of baseball by a long shot (in fact, the game of rounders is closer to our baseball and also predates our game). But it is nearly impossible to catch a friendly game of cricket here in the states.

If you have ever wanted to see the game of cricket, even if just to check it off your bucket list, or if you grew up with this great drinking sport and desperately need a "cricket"-fix, have we got a deal for you!

The NASHVILLE OCCASIONALS CRICKET CLUB is a local group who promote this sport, just like the Kangaroos promote Australian Rules Football and Netball. They have arranged for PAGET'S MARAUDERS (a visiting team from the U.K.) to play an exhbition match.

So, bring your own deck chair or blanket and your own bottle & a picnic lunch, or join us for afternoon tea. You can learn what LBW means and see the batsmen "hit for six" during one of the "overs". It may even remind you of the early days of the Kangaroos when the Occasionals and the Roos used to square off for the Colonial Cup (Ed.- which the Roos won both times!)
