Year End Awards Banquet, Silent Auction, and Annual Meeting at Blackstone Brewery

September has come and gone and that means two things left to close out the football season. First up, the USFooty National Championships are being held October 10-11 in Mason, Ohio. The Kangaroos are sending a strong side to compete for the Division II Championship. The boys received the #2 seed in their pool. Also in their pool are top seeded San Diego Lions, third seed North Carolina Tigers and Milwaukee Bombers.

And for the first time in Roo history, we are sending a second team. This team will combine forces with the reserves from the Columbus Jackaroos and compete in Division IV. This means that the Roos could be taking home not one, but two trophies this year. GO ROOBOYS!

The second major event of October is the Year End Awards Banquet, Silent Auction, and Annual General Meeting. We are proud to announce that this year's venue is the Blackstone Brewery, a well know Nashville icon!

Year End Awards Banquet

Everyone is invited to come to Blackstone Brewery for dinner at 7:00 pm; we will have our own room (the one closest to West End Avenue). Click here for the Blackstone Brewery Menu. Enjoy the great food and sample the local brews while celebrating the great achievements of the Kangaroos 2009 Football and Netball teams.

Annual General Meeting

Just before the Awards Ceremony, we will start at 8:00 pm with the Annual General Meeting to include the reports of the president, both head coaches, and the treasurer. The election of the 2009-2010 Board of Directors will round out the AGM. We will then have the Awards Ceremony, with the usual awards such as best and fairest count down, best necomer and so forth. We also have another Hall of Fame inductee this year, bringing our total to five. This should finish at around 8:45 pm.

Silent Auction

The final part of the evening will then begin: the Silent Auction!. This is our biggest fund raising event of the year and I have to admit that it is great fun to watch everyone maneuvering to get their winning bids in! We will have dozens of items, just like we have had for the last five years. Special thanks to even co-chairs Molly Nemeth and Meredith Quigley who have put their unique signatures on this event the past three years and we expect nothing less this year!

It is not too late to have items donated: and all donations are tax deductible as we are a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organizations.

The evening will conclude when we close the auction, which will be 9:45 sharp! You may pick up your successfully bid items as soon as we collect payment: cash and checks only, thanks.
