Happy New Year to all Kangaroos fans and welcome to Nashville Kangaroos 2010
Well if you are here in Nashville you know it is clearly the middle of winter, with several inches of snow and ice on the ground paralyzing our great city. But even though the temperatures may be below freezing, fear not for the Kangaroos because we have been working diligently to get set up for 2010, from our Social Cultural Committee to our Netball team and of course our great Football team.
So keep warm, unless you are in Oz, in which case keep the sunnies on and stay in the shade when possible! The Nashville Kangaroos are warming up and ready to have another great year.

Social Calendar
Let's start with the social calendar: we already have been to the Nashville
Zoo Run Run in January where, in typical Roo form, controversy
jumped up and reared its ugly head! We also celebrated Australia
Day - Nashville Style. We have other 2010
Roo Events planned and a few more on the drawing board. If you are able
to help out our Cultural Committee, please contact me. We'd love to have
you.
2010 Membership
Next up is Membership. You the member are the life blood of this
organization. To best serve you, we need to be able to keep you informed
and to keep the lights on. I am please to announce that we are holding the
2010
Membership dues structure with no increases from 2009. If you have not
yet paid your 2010 Membership, please do so now. We have it conveniently
set up for you to take care of this online.
This form allows you to update your contact information (so you won't miss
any issues of Roos eNews!) and also calculates your dues. We have a PayPal
button set up where you can use PayPal dollars, your credit card, or your
bank account. It is completely secure.
2010 Netball
The Kangaroos Netball team has located a new venue and set up its Winter
League schedule. We will be playing at the upstairs gym at Bethel World Outreach Center in Brentwood
(on Old Hickory Boulevard). This is a fun league for all ages with no
experience required. The fun begins on February 13th at 10 am and continues
for seven weeks.
2010 Football
The Kangaroos Football team has been busy as well. It might seem simple,
but actually the hardest part of the year is setting the schedule. I know,
I have done it for the last several years! The Football Committee is
currently working on taking "Tentative" off the calendar for the proposed
season and as soon as they do, we will be posting the final schedule to the
website. The first football event is going to be Recruitment Day. Look for
that day to be confirmed as well (it will be right around the end of March)
as it will signal the official start of training.
