From The President
If you have ever managed a newsletter, you know how difficult it is to find the time over and over again to keep to the production schedule. My apologies for the last several months in which Roos eNews was not published. With this July 2010 issue we get back on track with our regular publication schedule.
As always, the Roos are busy, busy, busy. From our Footy team busily piling up wins and launching the Nashville Metro Australian Football League, to the netball team recruiting new members, seeking a new venue (again), and looking to head out to another tournament in California, to welcoming new sponsors, to our busy social calendar. There is always something going on with the Kangaroos. And right now we have a few new ideas cooking.
Our football team is well known after 14 years and of course footy was the foundation of the club. Since 2005, we have been promoting netball, a less well known sport in the US, but hugely popular overseas. We are in the planning stages of a possible third team: golf. While golf is not unique to Australia, it certainly is played there. This effort is being spear headed by Grant White, who not coincidentally also is our annual golf tournament director. If you are interested in helping to form this team, please reach out to Grant via our contacts page.
We are always seeking contributions to our website; if you have an article to contribute, please submit it through our webmaster email address, in any text-readable format, with a picture if you have one (preferably in jpg format).
If you are looking to help with the Kangaroos, but are not sure how, just send us a note, and we will happily find you a place where you can contribute to our great club. And now on to the news.
